Job Description

The Assistant Manager will support the Executive Team and shall act as the Agent-in-Charge in the absence of the Executive Team for a Retail Cannabis Dispensary. Assistant Manager will support in ensuring that all daily operating procedures are performed as required.


  • Create and oversee the implementation of the company’s vision and mission
  • Adhere to company SOP and compliance rules extensively
  • Assist in the management of the operation of the company by supervising staff and overseeing standards, controls, systems and procedures to assure the quality of the organization
  • Hold employees accountable for their role and duties
  • Explore opportunities for growth of business
  • Support Executive Team in organizational change and growth
  • Supervise, manage, and direct the activities of sales team
  • Manage and inspire staff to deliver the highest level of customer service and satisfaction
  • Ensure compliance with applicable local, state/provincial, and federal laws and regulations
  • Assist with customer service and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of all strains and products in store inventory as well as industry wide product and trend knowledge
  • Assist in hiring, training new employees and employee performance reviews
  • Responsible for all time and attendance processes, including schedule creation, staff coverage planning, and hours approval
  • Co-ordinates and assists with proper receiving, storing, and order fulfillment process, ensuring compliance to company standards
  • Oversees performance measures, provides performance feedback and ensures that work standards are met


  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in management position
  • Must be results oriented with demonstrated expertise in team building, communications, problem solving, governance, community relations, and culture-building and proactive management style
  • Ability to multitask and work well in fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills, with an emphasis on POS systems, iPad technology and inventory management software.
  • Knowledge of Massachusetts cannabis industry and guidelines set forth by CCC
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Must pass any and all required background checks
